    Howdy lemonboy,

Hmmm...you just might be onto something there..it's just hard not to be pessimistic, knowing that I ain't got the money to pay for high-fallutin lawyers.

We have a good-ol-boy network in place here,if ya got the money, charges seem to mysteriously dissappear,if you pay the minmum, they screw ya,if ya pay what they ask for - the system seems to work smoothly.

I can't imagine what the good ol boy's reaction would be,if I were to bring a lawyer into the equation, that's outside of their cozy little world they got here..lol.

    Have a good one !

The ruling of Judge Francis Young

    Howdy Y'all,

Well..my court date is set for Feb 28..pretty dang quick, considering that my gal's court date ain't been set yet..I hope it means that they will just drop her charge.

I talked to one of the lawyers listed with D/FW NORML yesterday, and he said that I should demand a public defender and probably go the deferred adjudication route. I told him how I felt that the task force and the fed, probably violated my rights and took my smoke improperly and he said that it probably was,but that the cops will lie to cover their asses, that it was a given. He also said that the fed wasn't going to try and take my case to the US attorney, because my 'gifts' were so small, that it wasn't worth the time and hassel for em.

I also told him that I was 100% disabled and that I have a very limited set of guide-lines that I have to adhere to in regards to my physical limitations, that would preclude me from doing most community service and such,he said to be sure and inform the judge..I will most certainly do that !

Another interesting thing is,is that the task force that came to my home that day, will be disbanded at the end of March and I'm wondering if I took the case to trial, that it would be difficult for the county to git the narcs to testify at my trial, because they've been re-assigned elsewhere.

I just don't know what to do-should I take DA or is it time for me to make a stand and stand-up for medical need and decrim ? If I lose the trial, the maximum sentence is 180 days in county jail and a 500$ fine,I believe. The president of D/FW NORML,said that he would organize a protest for me at the courthouse if I want. The lawyer said that I would make a good poster-boy for the medical marijuana issue and that MPP would probably want me to go to Austin and testify about my medical need.

    What say y'all ?

    Have a good one !

    ^^^ Torog,

    I wish you the best.

I think you should ask your heart what to do... althought the poster-boy thing sounds great, it's a real pain in the ass... I would guess. If you're willing to go for it, me, among millions of others, will forever be in debt to you.

Torog, one day, we'll smoke together...

I wish you the best great friend,

I say do it! You would probaly do great and help starting putting necessary bills on the ballot. If you havnt realized it yet, Austin is a city mostly made of Hippies and Reformed conservatives that would fight for your right of medical use as much as possible.

If any of this does get under way, drop me a line and I might go check out the protest or help make signs or something.

    Torog-
I'll be thinking about you on the 28th, saying a little prayer that everything works out for the best.
As far as the legal options....I'm not sure what deferred adjudication IS!! So, I can't help you there. I think it would be great to get your case in front of the media, you have such extreme disabilities and MJ helps you sooo much. Ultimitely it's up to you whether or not you want to put your pretty face in front of the cameras!

hi Torog, 180 days (worst-case?) in the hoosegow can be a looooong time, but even if things don't work out great, i don't think you'd get any jail time, so i say go for it!

    Howdy likemclever,

Well..I don't know yet, just what it was that got me busted,I just know that I got visited after recieving small gifts of compassion,in the mail. Customs did intercept a gift from the nederlands, but I didn't respond to their letter and it was months and months later, that I got visited. On the morning they came to visit me,they claimed to have intercepted a gift from vancouver and they said that they had to put a stop to me gittin gifts in the mail. The un-identified fed,who did almost all of the talking, said that the amounts I was recieving, were too small to prosecute and he left it up to the task force to decide whether or not that they would press charges for the weed they took from my stash-box..well..I reckon that they changed their minds and decided to 'walk' me through the system. This all happened last August and they sent a deputy to arrest me on Jan. 14th.

    Have a good one !
