    Catalogs in the mail??

Is it usual practice for big-name hydroponic suppliers to send you catalogs in the mail after you order from them? Even using a safe address doesn't this raise certain concerns? I've never come across this happening to anyone before so I figured I would say something about it. If it would benefit anyone to know the name of the company I'll be glad to note it but if it's a usual practice and my fault for not knowing to immediately request my name be taken off anything promotional they might or might not (!!!) be sending, I don't want to give anyone a bad rep.

Edit: There is a "customer ID number" on the back of the catalog. Ugh.

    Catalogs in the mail??

yea, some companies do that.. i used to be the mailboi for a few companies, they do that... since u ordered from them u showed interest in their products.. now they're advertising more products, they're trying to keep their customer..

however, I saw a post before about how the D.E.A. buys transaction records and purchase-data from companies, run's the data their their computers and prints a list of potential threats n who to further investigate..

so i'd say to call up the company, tell'm to be removed off the list.. they WILL ask you why tho, for 'survey reasons'.. tell'm it was a one-time thing, that u were replacing things, or u broke ur cousins shit for his botanical garden :rasta:

That is my concern. I always hate giving Mr. Mailman yet another piece of the puzzle too.

I looked over the catalog hoping for some simple instructions on being taken off the list to no avail. So I guess I will just call them, give my name to 10 different people before hitting the right department, and remove myself. Fun.
