    LoL linux, thats pretty much only good for *HOSTING* Things, like games, websites ect.. But for regular use i would recommend not to get it... becase most software out today are for Windows, and many of them don't support the linux system base.

    but as i said about it for hosting, it's the best..

    PS.if anyone ends up getting linux i would recommend getting redhat upgrade

    And check out the live discs first (many distros offer them). Better to run it from CD than to mess with your HD contents.

    linux isn't all bad, im running it on my pc alongside windows at the moment - but it's only really of any use to you if you actually need it to serve a specific purpose. my computer is quite outdated now but i don't play any games so it's cool

    amd athlon xp 3200+
    512mb ram
    geforce fx5200
    2x 200gb hard drives
    1x 80gb hard drive
    1x 40gb hard drive
    550w psu
    everything else is onboard
