that hood doesn't have the ballast in it? i used a similar 1 and had to remove the ballast from the reflector and wire it up remotely on the back of the grow cab. most cfls will work in a regular socket. that's because the ballast is in the base. you must be careful though home depot and walmart do sell some higher wattage cfls that do not have the ballast included and must be used with the appropriate reflector/hood with inclosed ballast. i made that mistake when i first built my stealth cab. i have not been able to find a cfl with ballast over 45watts except at the hydro store so that 65watter is a great find!
