If you transplant right after a watering its very messy, and if you do it when the soils dry it falls apart. I suggest transplanting halfway between waterings, and the root mass will stay in tact nicely, making it much easier on you and the plant.
You got the right idea about cutting down the side of the cup. Cut off the bottom off too and the cup will slip right out. I believe I read somewhere that syrofoam makes a poor growing container... I forget why... no big deal, but just for next time.smoknjoe Reviewed by smoknjoe on . The Brains *official* LoG Hey guy's I have posted a couple random post about my project. btw, its day 3 of planting
plant1: no stretching at all very sturdy, approx 5-6cm tall
plant2: pedals arent opened all the way about thier. (1 day behind on planting)
plant3: pedals arent opened all the way about thier.

if i were you i'd carefully cut little holes at the bottom of those cups for drainage if you havent already. sometimes the roots will poke thru those holes, if that happens then you'll know when to transplant.. but its really not a huge issue. id transplant in a week regardless. as for transplanting... DONT WATER IT, let the soil dry out, then tip in upsidedown with your fingers supporting. in my experience that technique works, the soil might break apart a little bit but its fine, just get it in the new pot asap

i dissagree totally with rock my socks dont transplantwhen dirt is dry always water then transplant in order to keep the rootball in tack and also if there o nly 3 days since planting dont plan on transplanting anytime soon at least for another 3 weeks the rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil for ever foot of growth above soil do the math and you'll know when to transplant another good way of knowing is how he said let the roots come out of the drainiage wholses to knoiw shes ready for more root room why not to transplant untill the 3rd/4th week simple the stress of the transplant if done incorrectly will stunt growth which sucks ass...one last thing superthrive is great to reduce stress from transplanting or anything else ..p.s. theres a great transplanting guide int he faq section here go get em...

I recommend keeping them on 24/7 through veg stage, and when your ready to flower go straight to 12/12....Im on my 1st grow but it worked perfect for me..
