All they had (so she said) were 4 foot strip lights. well fuck that, i want to get some of those nice curly ones i see on pics on this site all the time!
    Also do different makes have different spectrums? are some utterly useless or can i just buy anyone and it will work? probs not i know.

    You want to buy Compact Fluorescent Lights. Get the highest possible wattage. And thats before any energy saving rating which will be a higher figure. You should be able to find some that are 40+ watts at a hardware/lighting type store.

    in flourecents ... the tubes called "cool white' will be your 'blue' wave lights, and the 'natural light', or 'warm' lamps will be your 'red' lights, ... use two red to each blue, if possible.... veg with the blues ,and flower with the reds :smokin:
    it\'s disgraceful what the dumbass website owner \'Sundance\' did to this website, it used to be the Best

    I am vegging with a 2' 4 bulb T5 unit. I am only using the 6500k bulbs. The plants have very close nodes and are bushy as hell. They were under 2 of the compact florecent spiral bulbs for the first 2 weeks and I was not impressed with the growth that occured. 2 weeks under the T5's and they are simply beautiful now.

    Btw, how are your plants doing now under the envirolite.

    Im up to eight overhead 4-footers now, with capability to add eight more for flowering, from the sides or below ... not sure yet, if I will ... having pretty good rate of growth with the prresent 320-watt setup ... pain in the ass to raise and lower, kinda like pumping iron, who says growing pot aint good for your health ?? ... :smokin:

    CFL = Compact Fluorescent Lights.

    They aren't better than normal fluorescents... they're just more, (guess!!!), compact!!!

    And if they're more compact, you can place them better around/over/besides your plants. That's it, really.

    Are this big ass CFL lights... they come in various sizes, I think the biggest is 200Watts... They're good because they're made for growing... so, you can get the light spectrums you need for vegetative, and the spectrums you need for flowering.
