    when i quit smoking i chewed LOTS of juicy fruit and always had a pen in my pocket in case i wanted something else to chew on. And also everytime i got a craving id just go smoke a bowl and after a while i dint really want cigarettes and i smoked on not to long ago just to see if i still liked them and actually they were very unappealing to me and kinda made me feel sick. So now i know i guess i really kicked the habbit.

    i never understood tobacco.
    i smoked before and sometimes when im fucked up ill smoke
    but it dosnt give me no head change so i think its pointless.
    do you smokers like the taste or just the fun of blowing smoke or what.

    Been trying to get my folks to quit for the longest, it's like I can their health slowly decaying. I've heard of pills that can take that would every time you tried to smoke tabacco, would make you feel sick to your stomach. Give it a through google search.

    Help kicking the cigarettes please!

    I smoked for over 15 years before I finally quit. I tried cold turkey several times and it never worked. I did, however, come up with a plan that did work and I've been cig free for over 6 years now. You need to be committed and it does take a while but it also really works. At least it did for me. Here's what I did.

    1. First identify when you smoke. Keep a little notebook with you and write down every time you have a cigarette. Do this for a week while smoking like you normally do.

    2. After a week average out how many smokes you have each day and find the patterns you have for smoking them. For example: after lunch/ dinner, before work or school, coffe break, etc.. Write these all down. They are now the only times you can smoke. Follow this schedule for a week to get yourself accustomed to it.

    3. After one week of following the schedule cut out one, and only one, cigarette. Its only one smoke and you know exactly when the next scheduled smoke is coming so its not so hard . Continue to not smoke that scheduled cigarette for a week. Make sure that every day its the same cigarette that you not smoking . You don't want to jump around in your schedule.

    4. After a week of that cut out one more smoke, continue to do this until your down to 5 or so smokes a week.

    5. Once your down to 5 smokes a week the physical addiction will pretty much be gone. Now go out and find the nastiest tasting smoke you can find. Something that you really don't want to smoke and probably won't finish one of them. For me it was some nasty little flavored cigars I found.

    6. Now, when you have a cigarette scheduled, go and smoke one of the nasties. You'll get a bit of the nicotene, all you'll really need, but will probably not have the whole thing. After a while you'll find yourself not wanting to have the next scheduled smoke. By this time you can just take the plunge and stop all together.

    7. Once you stop the only other barrier is the continued psychological addition. this is the toughest part. You know how when you need a smoke now you get that anxious feeling? And then, when you have the smoke the anxious feeling goes away, right? Well, stress from everyday life will give you an anxious feeling too. Your first tendency is to reach for a smoke. It took me several years before I didn't want to have a cigarette every time I was stressed out. The thing to remember is, the cigarette won't make this kind of stress go away. After your smoke it will still be there and you'll just be pissed at yourself for having a cigarette.

    Thanks for the responses so far. I shitcanned the pack I bought last night, about three hours after buying it and haven't had a smoke since. It's just that I've been smoking off and on since I was 17 and have quit cigarettes many times (successfully, as in no more cravings), but this last time has been especially difficult for some reason, with last night being my 4th relapse in less than two weeks.

    Maybe its because many of the previous times I quit cigarettes by taking up snuff. Definitely not the best way to go about it - and a few times I became addicted to the snuff. But snuff will get you to ditch the cigs, at least it did for me.

    But then again gum probably works just as good. Or Lobelia.
