Handguns were banned in 1997 after the Dunblane massacre, when Thomas Hamilton opened fire at a primary school leaving 16 children and their teacher dead. I have not seen one since (apart from in the US), Just wondering if anyone still owned one. The ban is so strict, the UK Olypmic Pistol team must practice in another country. Here in Texas,guns are looked at as useful tools for hunting and gittin rid of predators that attack our livestock,as well as defending our family's and homes,when we are far away from a police response.

I got my first gun when I was only 11 years old,a single shot 22,then I got a semi-auto 22 rifle,I worked for the money and got them on my own,my dad saw how responsible I was and bought me a 30-30 Winchester,when I was 12 or so,and we went out deer hunting and I got my first buck,an 8 pointer. Back in the early 70's,we could even bring our guns to school and as long as we didn't take em out of our cars and trucks,it was okay. Many a time,we brought our rifles to school,so that we could go huntin and plinking,after school. Then modern liberalism raised it's ugly face..and suddenly ,guns were to be feared and the students were no longer trusted to be responsible for their guns. It was one of the silliest things we'd ever heard..I reckon that the liberals couldn't understand that we feared the wrath of our parents,if we mis-used a gun,more than what any cop would do.

well sometimes you can't talk your way out of a situation, in my town ppl start fights for absolutely no reason, just to entertain themselves, especially at the weekends, even the bouncers at the pubs and clubs will find a reason to look good by beatin ppl down, but i'd still rather defend myself with my fists than with bullets, like i said, guns are for pussies who cant fight, and about those pics u posted torog, if women want to defend themselves they dont need guns to do it, thats what self-defence classes and martial arts are for, a female can handle themselves as well as any male, sometimes better, believe me i know this to be true, i had plenty of kicks to the stones by females and seen females kick the crap outta some big lads too :thumbsup:

I totally agree with what Torog said. Guns are useful tools where he lives. Granted I dont live in Texas but have been there many times, and have lots of relatives there.

Since we obviously cant destroy every single one, there must be a method for controlling them.

This is a quote that i found that fairly well says what i am trying to say.
