Capote is specifically about how Truman Capote wrote his book "In Cold Blood". Not about Truman Capote as much as it is about the specific writing of "In Cold Blood". VERY, VERY good. But it is the slowest moving of all the movies up for best picture. If you donâ??t have patience for a good movie, donâ??t go see this one!

But Philip Seymour Hoffman is just amazing in it!!!

Dude 90% of Brokeback is them staring off into space thinking about fucking eachother. Then there's 5% where they do fuck and another 5% where they utter some redneck drawl toward one another. Seriously, it's not that good.

That said it'll sweep the Oscars I'm sure.

Then this movie was totally lost on you. You missed the the very substantial plot about their wives and families? You missed the part of them being gay during that time in history!?!?

Yes the plot is very simple. Its a very simple love story. That is why its so great! But I have watched Syriana 3 times now!! It complicated as hell as I guess you know. I would take both of us a long time try write out the plot of that movie, and donâ??t get me wrong I loved it!!

But that does not make it a single bit more intellectual than Brokeback!!

Their wives were hardly a part of the story. They were almost background really. I'm not saying it was a bad movie, I think everyone should check it out at some point. I just don't think they should run out and see it right away.

To each their own I guess.

I'm not a big fan of Syriana either. I'll check out the rest of the flicks before Oscar night. You should start another thread at the end of the month and I'll give you my opinion then.

If Ang Lee and other great actors made a movie about subjects I have no interest inâ?¦ About basket wavers, about interior decorators, about dirt farmers!! I would still want to fucking see them badly!!! Because I love good movies!! And I know great directors and great actors can make a great movie about ANY subject. Nothing unique about this movie except for two gay cowboys..I will not see it.Hollywood needed a boost so here you go...something different does not make it unique..but anyways..I wouldn't waste my money on it. The Passion Of The Christ was a great movie..seen it?

The narrow minds of those who won't see the movie b/c of its theme amazes me. If you went, you would see it has a larger message which is life passes by so you better get in touch with who you are and live in a way that allows you to be true to yourself.

If people took the time to venture out of their mental boxes, they just might learn something and more importantly, learn something about themselves.

As for the movie, it was great and the acting was second to none. It deserves the props it is getting.

So open your minds and go see the movie. You just might like it.

Just because someone dosn't wish to go see a movie dosn't mean that their either too stupid to watch it or that for some reason they hold some prejudice against the theme of the movie.

I haven't seen an awful lot of films including this one and I'd like to think I'm interested in more genres than action films and its certainly not because I have some underlying hatred of homosexuals.
