    Pest control with CO2

    Hello guys,

I've got three different types of pests...
I've searched for about 30 minutes (yes, waiting 20 seconds between posts) through the threads here, but I haven't found what I'm looking for.

I want to kill my pests with CO2. I think it'll be the easiests, fastest, most effective, and cleanest way to erradicate the little bastards.

My plans are to elevate the CO2 ppm levels to about XXXXppm, in order to "suffocate" the pests. I've read that this is done... I've read it here, but I can't find it.

Sooo.... I was wondering if anybody of you know what those CO2 levels are? The levels needed to kill pests, but not kill your plants.

1))) Is it 3000 ppm? I know 1800 is for growing (daylight).
2))) How long do I need to hold the CO2 in? 2 hours? 3? 4?
3))) Can I do it during nightime? (If done during daylight, I'll have to turn ON my exhaust fan, because of the lights' heat).

It'd really appreciate your help guys. Thanks!

Okay first off you could just use nem oil. Spray it in the bottom part of the leaves. Or just for 15 minutes take a propane bottle full of Co2 and bleed it into the room on a high table with fans since Co2 is heavier than Oxygen and the fans will help move it around the room. Nothing liveing after 15 minutes in that room won't live. So be careful. But I've done it and when your done look at the leaves an they will still be there but they will be dead and you just need to brush them off the leaves. If there's anymore questions let me know. Contact info on my pro.
    and...

I did the same thing to mine trying to kill spider mites.
So, I'll give it a try.

    15 minutes everyday... hmmm...

    Pest control with CO2

    Hey Turtle,

In my studies I've come across that technique, and the level is 5000ppm. Past that point is the level where humans can become a bit dizzy, so dont be in the room. I've never used it b/c my sanitary and vent design precautions have prevented even the smallest of infestations. Nobody ever believes me, but the only critter Ive ever seen is a millipede from the soil ive purchased. Never wear outdoor shoes in the room, I slip on a pair of sandals that are inside the room by the door.

    Thanks snow!

That info really helps... Where I'll conduct my CO2 injection is in my mother cabinet... it's 12"x24" with a 24" height... so I won't walk into it... trust me.

But thanks man... that's in my To Do list... CO2 killings

    Pest control with CO2

When the cannabis plant came to earth about 250,000 years ago the CO2 levels from what I read were 2500ppm. I have read amounts over 2500ppm are non usable to cannabis, but true enough can sufficate pests. I dont know how long mites can go without oxygen for. I would figure they would die quick. 5000ppm and above would make sense to me to kill the pests but I have never tried it. As long as the fans are off the level of co2 would be much higher on the ground so one may not have to use as much.

Reaper: I had a 20 pound tank that I hooked up with a broken regulator. The entire tank leaked into the room within hours. No bad effects where noted. I know testers can be expensive. They sell one use testers for twenty dollars if you want to test the level once at 15mins of a open tank with your room dimentions. You can also make co2 with yeast and sugar but not at levels high enough to kill pests.

    One love
