how do you end an argument?

i hate arguing! hate hate hate it. so i usually just change the subject or walk away until they get over it.

What if you've been smokeing for so long its seems like if you stop smokeing

When we fight, all he wants to do is talk, and truth be told, if I'm angry, I don't want to talk because I don't want to say something without thinking.

If your hubby likes a cool off period, let him have it. Don't let the fight escalate to the point where you can't talk in a civil manner - when you sence it's going past where you want it to, just say "I don't want to fight about this, let's cool off, but would it be Ok to talk about it latter when we're both feeling less upset?"

That phrase has worked miracles for me. It gives me the cool off time that I really need, but it lets Scott know that I'm not brushing the issue under the rug and that he will get a chance to talk it out.

But hey, what works for me might not work for you... still, some food and a bowl is a great way to make up!

I try my hardest not to argue back. It seems to only lead to her/him getting more and more stressed out.
It depends really.....what the argument is about. If im right and they dont want to admit it then ill just say fuck it and leave it at that. If I realise they are right then I normally say sorry and walk away knowing a little bit more...
