ok to transplant during flowering?
Have a flowering sativa getting way too big for its pot. Is it OK to transplant it to a bigger pot at this late stage? its about 8 weeks (out of 12) into flowering? Will it kill the plant or stop it flowering? Anyone know? Ta

Here's what you need to do. Transplanting now will stun growth severly and with cause serious stress. You best bet is to cut the bottom out of the pot and put it in a 5 gallon bucket. Make sure you don't disturb the roots. And after tranplanting, water it sparingly to stimulate the roots to spread out.

That's not a bad idea at all. Gotta love pot head inginuity. lol
At 8 weeks, though, root growth has slowed tremendously and I would have to wonder what benefit it would have. I would think that any harm from being rootbound is already set and transplanting now wouldn't help too much.
Just a thought.

Your plants will continue to root and grow in late flowering. They are probably rootbound which will slow growth and bud development. It would be very beneficial to double pot. Every little thing that helps your plant adds up, and what your left with is a beautiful plants that you and mother earth created. Be as kind as possible to your babies. And in return your babies will be kind to you... very kind...

Thanks for answering guys.
I was just gonnna chop it down but now it has buds starting I want to finish growing it.
The pot it is growing in is really tiny but the plant is still growing upwards and the top leaves are skinny and curling up

Wow... yes that is exactly what i mean. It creates soil layers. And as for your harvest try harvesting in thirds. Get a magnifing glass and look at your top third of bud when it turns white then starts a little amber cut the top 1/3 off. Then give it a week and the middle buds (having all this new air and light) will grow bigger. Repeat the magnifing glass trick and cut the middle and then repeat whole process on the lower 1/3. It's really the most efficent way to harvest. Pull the buds when they are ripe and most potent.
