    Grow Log - AcousticStoner420 - 1ST GROW

Whats up Everyone, So... Im setting up for flowering and i plan on inducing @ the beginning of next week... I am also going to transplant within the next couple days in order to prepare them for flower, and im thinking that i should give them a good day to settle into their new pots.

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON A SOIL??? SHOULD I GRAB SOME PERLITE TOO???

BUk, Mand, Grim --- What do guys use???

GIn- Whats up man, thanks for the compliment on my grow. This being my first im never really sure of whats next, but im hoping for the best.

BUk - Thanks for the advice man, I have two seperate containers of the same nutrients just a difference in dosage... Each container lasts about a week im seein so far, so a extra 1/4 tsp every week or so... thats pretty safe and im seeing no nute burn and nice lush leaves so im gonna stick with it, you plan is a safe one... thanks for the help

Grim - Haha, man ur crazy... Thanks for the compliments on my grow man... Ill be checkin on whats up with u too. Umm lets see im using a 15-30-15 nutrients in a LOW LOW DOSE right now, but the results are nice i think... im transplanting to new pots im thinkin like 3gal or so because these 13" are getting small... what do u think? big enough? or should i keep it smaller?

I would definitely trasplant probably before flowering and maybe a few days so they can get over the stress before you switch them to flowering.

As far as the nutes - I was doing some research and talking to some other members and I found out that switching nute numbers can cause additional unwanted stress so I plan on using the same formula when I jump right into flowering. I'm using 14" pots and I'll probably transplant when they get up to the 2 foot range

My plants got a little rootbound in their 8" pots and it's definitely not something you want to deal with lol. I was amazed because they didn't look big enough to be rootbound, but when I pulled them out I could definitely see a MASS of roots collecting at the bottom and trailing all the way up every side of the soil basically making the pot one big rootball. They're still recovering a bit and should be good as new by Monday at the latest.

Get 5 gallons if you have the space for it, you won't regret it and your plants won't thank you enough.

the 15-30-15 is ok, the 30 is kinda high but as long as you're giving them low doses like you said, you'll be fine. Remember, they use up Nitrogen first and foremost.

How often are you watering/how much do you water? (out of curiousity)

Whats up Grim, Im still pretty sure on gettin the 3gal, im thinkin that it will be enough, because i only have 3ft. in height to work with... But if ur strong in the 5 gallons i do i have the room for it, but only the 40" in height. Lemme know on that... I water a good amount about every other day, and about half that inbetween days... they really need it. Thats also why im thinkin the transplant will be a smart move...

What do u think about the perlite, and what soil do u recommend man???

Thx for all the input and help

    Acoustic - <3

I did the math and apparantly what I'm using is a little over 3 gallons. If you're not having too many problems with the roots yet I think you should be fine with a 3 gallon, but if you can make room for a 5 I think you should do it.

Expect double the growth when you switch it into flower, you have more room than that I'd say go for it!

As far as soil goes, I actually buy anything WITHOUT bark (the first soil I ever bought had chunks of wood and bark in it, as small as they were they still caused problems with the roots not being able to go through) and without any added fertilizer as well as a few bags of pearlite.

I'll take both of them home, take a seperate pot I use for mixing (just a standard planting pot. bigger the better.) and I'll pour about 30-40% pearlite in and the rest soil and then start mixing like crazy with a scoop and a few garden tools.

I like it this way because I know exactly how much of what is in there.

Your plants look great so I don't think there's any problem with the way you're watering, I was just curious. As Karma told me, just make sure to let the soil towards the bottom dry so not only the roots get oxygen, but so the PH towards the very bottom of the pot doesn't go off the charts.

My grow is going pretty nicely
I stunted 2 in the very beginning and knew why (not enough lighting) but I decided to let them live for the hell of it.. they're actually thriving now! It's funny because they have the same maturity as my foot tall plants but they're about half the size :stoned:

Not much yield on them I'm sure, but I'm keeping them around just to see what happens.

We're going to be smoking joints of our own ventures very soon, bro. Very soon.

In fact, let me know before you put one into flowering!
I'll put one of mine into flowering at the same time so I can keep tabs and compare

I'll post some more pics later tonight

Alright Grim, im going to go ahead and do 4gal buckets and compromise Also im DEFINATELY going to get the perlite and some shultz premium potting soil.

Man, we are so close... and some say the best high comes only from your very own homegrown. I cant wait for the first smoke... Its gonna be crucial!

Ok we are definately doing the comparison test with our plants going into flower... I will let u know of my exact date later on and we can start that going too. I just gotta get that transplant out of the way, and make sure the roots are set and we will be ready to go... i figure 36 hours for root recovery... i transplant with super stressless skill so this should be cake...imp:

Glad to hear the grow is going well... you have to post some pics for me, so i can check it out... dont embarrass me. haha.

Anyway... im gonna go hit this zong i got here...

Ok, I actually stayed up the entire night for fear of me not waking up in time to take my girl out of the dark.

    Is that dedication or what?

Acoustic- I'm already excited She shot up 2 inches in 12 hours! This is going to be fantastic if she's female. *crosses fingers*

It's 7am and I haven't slept! Time to crash

Damn Grim are u serious!?!?!? Ok heres the deal, go to home depot and get the digital light timer for 3$. After that you wont have to worry about getting up and moving, or perhaps an alarm? Haha Grim man, thats some serious dedication... but i got to be honest man... i woke up to switch my lights for the first 4 weeks! Haha, our dedication will pay off my friend... I am only an hour away from lights switching back on... I will let you know my first night results later on...

Although theres one thing that keeps popping up in my mind are light leaks, i have a couple, but im sure whether they will affect anything, i have done everything i possibly can, so i guess that will have to do...

    Pressin on...

How big are the light leaks? I was worried about it too.

So worried in fact, I was able to kind of put the plant in between all of these huge plastic storage bins, and drape a towel where the main light leak would be.

I was wondering though, the blinds in there don't completely keep the night out, as at 6am it was getting sort of light outside lol.

I'll probably have to go cover that bitch! :/

Tell me how progress is going!
