What the hell do i do?!?!??!?

Ok ok, my mom keeps asking me if i smoke pot and is telling me to be honest. I really want to tell her the truth but im afraid ill get punished badly. She said if she ever catches me smoking it she'll send me off to some prep school. I dont know what to do. I kind of want to tell her i smoke it because i trust her and stuff and im pretty sure she smoke when she was in high school. I dont know what to do. I dont want to quit and i think she already knows. I hate being dishonest and lying to her. I love her and i think she deserves the truth. I need input. Please please please!!! I need advice. Has anyone else here been in a situation like this??

its hard telling the truth. what I did was just smoke untill i got caught. and when i did i felt like all the pressure was gone. They realized they cant stop me. my parents tlerate it but dont want to cath me. my only problem is getting caught high, but i just blame my woerd acting on alcohol

chances are, your mom knows, shes just waiting to hear the truth from you. my parents played the same game. its better just to say yes. and try to tell them how its not bad for you and such

Thats exactly what i want to do. And its not effecting me negatively at all. I get good grades (As and Bs). I don't think she would be terribly mad or anything, although my father would. I think ill tell her when im ready. Maybe in a month when we are camping.

I think thats exactly when you DON'T want to tell 'em. I mean, if they don't know, and they flip out, would you really want to have to hang around with them for the rest of your camping trip? I think you should just tell them. I mean, its like you said, they already think that you do it, and that you're lying to them. It would be better for you to tell them than for them to find out on themselves.

Although, if you think they really were serious about the prep school bit, then maybe not...

Point out your mom's hypocrisy to her, and see what happens. It goes like this:

Mom: Do you smoke? Be honest.

You: What happens if I say yes?

Mom: I send you to a prep school and you never see your friends again.

You: Mom, what the hell do you expect me to say? Even if I did smoke (and I'm not saying I do) would you really expect me to be honest with you if you threaten such a harsh punishment?

Mom: Uh....

You: That's right. Now shut your mouth and get back in the kitchen!

Parents will shock you sometimes. Everyone handles their own set differently, so I dunno... I'd have a conversation with her, ask her what her opinion is on drugs and such...feel her out.
