    quitting weed?

Alright well i have been thinking alot about quitting weed. I have been smoking most nights for a few months. ive noticed small things like being tired alot and being irritable and im worried this is gonna effect my grades at school (im in year 11 and my parents pay ALOT of money to send me to this school and i dont want to waste their money). Also i havnt been getting much sleep and im not sure if thats why ive been feeling the way i have been. I kinda need some advice...should i quit smoking? Another thing is that im getting paranoid my parents will find out i smoke green...because if they do ill be disowned by them lol...ive had a few close calls already...like last week mum noticed that my room smelt like weed. Any advice would be really great.

    quitting weed?

generally smoking weed daily will make you "comfortably numb" (to quote pink floyd). I didn't even notice it for the longest time myself, but smoking too much will generally make you feel like being less active when you're high, burning out, or sometimes just the day after. it's all about moderation.

just today I realized I couldn't get myself motivated and stay on task with my studying. it wasn't so much that the weed made me "lazy", it's just that it made me comfortable in a lazy state and not notice. so I got up and just started doing a lot of stretches, then did some actual weightlifting and strength training, and then worked up to going out for a run. after a good hour of being active and keeping my blood pumping, I came right out of my stupor. so really all I can tell you is at least leave one day of the week weed-free, and don't let yourself forget about staying active, or else you'll get a little too comfortable doing nothing, whether that nothing be physical or mental.

There's been alot of these lately.

I suggest if you feel you want to quit, take a break, and start up. Or cease usage as much as you were using before. Just reduce intake.

    quitting weed?

I quit the first week of January because I'm job hunting. But I have done it for months at a time in the past for various reasons. It definitely lets you take a good look at your usage and decide if you're a user or abuser...a very fine line.
I do tend to stay up later when I'm smoking and therefore, get less sleep. If you just can't quit or don't want to, try only smoking on weekends. Just keep your grades up and keep the parents happy. After all, they pay the bills and have done a lot more for you than you may realize. (assuming your family life is reasonably stable)

Smoking only on weekends works great for me.

I use to smoke every night 2 years ago till I hit burnout, And burnout sucks!
So I quit for 4-6 months cleaned up and now It's only on the weekends.

The hits are better and Im not foggy headed during the work week.

I'm actually at the point now where I only smoke for pain relief when I really need it. it sucks, getting high used to be the most amazing experience for me, but now my tolerance is just permanently up there. when I smoke now music doesn't sound any better, food tastse no tastier, t.v. shows are no funnier, I feel no happier, it just feels numb and pointles .

god I miss the days when I could smoke half a joint, throw on some music, and it would be like going to another world, just the most wonderfull feeling in all existence.

i think that you might just need a break, take some time to find out were weed belongs in your life, but quiting sounds so final and harsh!

i think that the line between user and abuser is a large grey area, only you know what color you fall in to. some people just smoke more than others, some dont, its how you use it and how it affects your and you life!

I've been smoking too much, too. I'm taking a temporary break then after that I'm cutting way back, because I hardly even get high anymore, and I cannot afford it financially. I am spending WAY too much money that I need for important things.
