Any hiphop fans?
im 100% positive that if you hear lil wayne's old stuff before anyone even heard of him, before he even appeared in big albums, you would think it sounds better than his stuff now.

I have Lil Waynes older stuff from stuff like
Da Nolia Soldier Pt. 1
DJ Smallz - Welcome To New Orleans
31 Degreez
DJ Smallz - Squad Up
And yes it is pretty fresh.
That's not the point.

yes, the point is...the more mainstream they get...the worse their music gets...

I think he's afraid to change his technique because of people like you, who want to hear the same thing over and over again.

well put, gangstarr is sick, and like talib and mos def and the greats before them tribe called quest and de la soul they are the most talented rappers and they stay mostly underground but r good enough to get publicity and a lot of fans and keep there style of hip-hop and make good money. and wat u said how rappers change there style to be more mainstream is sooo tru. look at outkast for example there still ok now but back in the day andrea 3000 didnt dress like a fag and him and big boi's flow was crazy. there shit was good back in the day.

Im a hip hop head no doubt (hence my name on this site bein Pete Rock). I agree with STZRules theres a lot of good underground shit and theres a lot of garbage underground shit. I stopped thinking in terms of underground and mainstream a long time ago. If the musics hot, its hot period, regardless of who makes it. Theres a lot of good rap and underground shit out there (Tribe, Beanie Seigal, Roots, Nas, Too Short, Dre, etc). And some of that southern shit is good too, especially when cruisin with a nice blunt. 3 6 Mafia and Project Pat. Expand your horizons my people.
