The holiday itself is really lame, downright stupid really (I'm not calling participants stupid, just the day).

1. I absoulately HATE this commercial propoganda that tells us "this is your chance to show someone how much you care". it's rediculous to depend on a corporate holiday for your "chance" to show them. if you love somebody, show them you love them, waiting for an artificial date is just silly.

and

2. Valentines day is just a corporate holiday. it's a means of brainwashing society into actually believing that you have to spend tons of money on chocolates and cards and restaraunts and all that crap. that's the only meaning there is to the day, for companies to make money, and I for one am not being sucked in.

MLK day differs greatly from valentines day, it is not a day based on buying people gifts, contributing to the disease infecting millions of americans daily that is Affluenza. Affluenza n. a painful, contagious, socially transmitted condition of overload, debt, anxiety and waste resulting from the dogged pursuit of more. read the book its great. It will open closed eyes. not that mine were closed when i read it, merely strengthened my convictions.

MLK day is a day celebrating a true american HEROE this man deserves all the respect and more. This man has done more for the world than 99% of its population.

I wasn't asking you....I admire MLK but saying he has done more for the world than Jonas Salk is a bit much for me. But thanks for your opinion. And FYI- Valentines is great!

As I said I admire MLK but he did not free blacks...they are still enslaved..just this time its of their own doing for the majority. Check the stats..black on black murder is the highest ...MLK stood for PEACE. Rosa and Coretta carried the torch imo...but this was about Valentines and once again thanks for your opinion.
