No more free rides say's Government!
The last time 1st Lt. William ??Eddie? Rebrook IV saw his body armor, he was lying on a stretcher in Iraq, his arm shattered and covered in blood.
A field medic tied a tourniquet around Rebrook??s right arm to stanch the bleeding from shrapnel wounds. Soldiers yanked off his blood-soaked body armor. He never saw it again.
But last week, Rebrook was forced to pay $700 for that body armor, blown up by a roadside bomb more than a year ago.

"? Ninety-four percent of the mobilized Army National Guard and Reserve soldiers who GAO investigated had pay problems. These problems distracted soldiers from their missions, imposed financial hardships on their families, and hurt retention."

"When Kelly left the military last year, he recalled, "it was an intense, emotional time." He thought little of the final two checks totaling $2,700 because he was owed vacation and travel pay, he said. Later, he was bewildered as pay stubs continued to come in the mail, each blank except for a notation of a $2,230 debt."

A plethora of ways the military is being screwed.

Yeah but "freedom is on the march"!!
This has been going on for a long time. There were reports of improperly outfitted soldiers dating back to vietnam. At least during ww2 they has some semblance of an excuse for being short on supplies. And Rummie is a complete dick for his take on the whole thing...you go to war with the army you have not the army you need, or something equally stupid and criminal. And as for the armor that's not on the humvees and other vehicles, it's not a problem with supply since the manufacturers have stated that they can ramp up production but the military is not ramping up the orders. War on the cheap and it's still breaking the bank. Anyone think they actually want to win??
