Government seeks to regulate internet because it is a tool of "terrorism"...
Too many people are addicted to the web for them to take it away now. What we would most likely see is a revolution led by millions of AOL-Jerry's Kids.

Good post, very informative.
It sounds credible as well that this is in the works. I wondered when this would start to happen.

Fun post but I don't think we really have too much to be afraid of. I can't imagine it coming down to having to pay per email, that would be disgusting, although I have heard the same thing before.

well this is half truth... they have come up with using these so called stamps in e-mails... but it's not for the user to buy... it's for companies to buy... so when they send you an email you know for sure it's them and not some scammer... example... let's say AOL is your ISP and one day you get a message saying it is aol and they need all this account info vertified... it all seems legit but you don't know for sure so you just delete it... a day later you internet doesnt work, you call AOL and they confirn that email you deleted as being from them and you just didnt respond in the alotted time... now with these stamps when you get that AOL email there will be a stamp on it showing that it is real(it can't be duplicated by anybody else) so you can have no fear in replying... i hope i cleared this up a little bit
