yes, tool does have a very distinct sound, but the songs all sound very diff. they all have diff scales, keys, tempo's, time signatures, and ive never heard them use the same riff in more than one song.

anywho...

HOOOORRRRAAAAAY!!!! i love TOOL, and ive been hoping for a long time now that they'd get back together for another album. They're musical geniuses. and they're one of the few bands that uses 3/4 and 5/4 in rock. Im gonna listen to aenema right now.

Tool are good in my perspective. I thought lateralus was a very good album. Apparently the new album is gonna be heavier which is good cos I appreciate their heavy songs more so than their ambient songs (even though these are still pretty decent). Any specific release date on that album?

There's a very strong rumour that Tool will be headlining the Reading and Leeds Festival this year. Can't wait.

I love Tool, I wouldn't say I'm hardcore Tool, but I really do enjoy them from time to time. They are all very intelligent musicians and people as well. Some of their songs are straight forward, but a lot of it is, not a normal beat. It isn't like 1 and 2 and 1 and 2 and, etc...It's very off beat stuff that is very tricky to play at times. One second they'll be playing 4/4 time, the next, it will be something that isn't even in the books. Amazing stuff really.

When is their new album due out anyways?
