If information was the sole basis, High Times and others would have been closed years ago... along with most all the libraries, book sellers, etc in the U.S.

Hosting in the U.S. is among the best places anywhere for hosting in regards to freedom of speech and expression.

Main reason for hosting in the U.S. is financial - hosting is affordable and bandwidth very good.

Secondary reason for hosting in the U.S. is that I'm a U.S. citizen who resides in the U.S. ... hosting the site elsewhere wouldn't help much in regards to the law.

The various legal actions of late have had nothing to do with information / websites per se, but rather aimed towards people directly engaged in cultivation, seed sales, etc.

Cannabis related websites in and of themselves have little value to the U.S. government nor that of many others; are a help to them actually, if anything ... and some government staffers, at least in the US DOJ branch, keep up to speed on cannabis related topics by visiting cann.com / marihemp network ... and for balance, they also appear to visit http://www.drugabusehelp.com/ too that I operate - very helpful site for many people with true drug problems; heroin, prescription drugs, etc; cannabis of course is basically harmless.

Another aspect of cann.com to keep in mind is that it's not focused on solely on growing - this site is aimed towards a larger more broad-based audience who have an interest learning more about / discussing all sorts of various mostly cannabis related topics.
