Is there a world war brewing between Islam and Christianity?

I'm actaully starting to get kind of concerned about this. It seems more and more in both groups, yet again, muslims and christians don't understand a thing about each other but they all think they know everything about each other. Perhapse every so often a crusade or jihad is innevitable between the two groups, but I can't say I'm happy about it .

now this is only the extent of my knowledge, but what I've seen:

-first there's all the fighting between israel and palestinians, which strengthens the idea in the west that "they're all a bunch of primitive savages" as I've heard so many times from so many people.

- then the US refuses to pull its troups out of saudi arabia implanting the idea in the muslim world that the christians want to control them. oh, and plus there's the innitial war in Iraq, though I don't think that pissed off too many people as far as I know, considering what saddam did.

- then in retalliation for the troups in their holy land (as I understand it, the area was considered holy) we get the 9/11 attacks. of course as goes with western propogranda, it was an "unprovoked attack" and everybody is now firmly convinced muslims are all crazy guys with AK's screaming "Mumamad jihad!!!". not that such an attack on civilians was justified, but stupidity goes both ways. not to mention the muslims and even sikh's (which doesn't make sense, but ah well they're all "sand niggers" as I've heard them say) being beatn up in the streets.

- THEN, we see the invasion of Iraq, it turns out there are no WMD's, and now the whole muslim world sees this as a christian crusade against islam, and for some it is really. so, as one muslim high-priest said "mr.bush has awakened the spirit of jihad in our youth". what do you expect when people hear the anti-western propoganda, then have it confirmed by seeing their family and friends being blown to bits by the thousands?

- then we have these damn cartoons and all the muslims who want an excuse to riot and destroy, now have one. and lets face it, whether your muslim, christian, or a hockey fan, everybody loves a good excuse to riot, even if it's punishing a whole race of people for the actions of a single newspaper. and of course, now the western world sees a bunch of angry islamics smashing and burning, so we're all certain now that the ones we see in the news are the ones that represent EVERYBODY in that faith.

- and now we have Iran and it's nuclear weapons (at least in popular opinion), a terrorist group ruling israel, and the US blowing up a house in pakistan full of innocents in a "shoots first ask questions later" strategy.

So gee golly jiminy whilickers, it seems everybody is just full of good excuses to keep hating each other based on a wonderfull array of steryotypes. as my college history professor said "there's nothing people love more than to have a simple enemy with a single face". it's times like these i'm glad I'm buddhist, because I don't want anything to do with this whole mess. what do you think? will this just keep escallating till we have full blown modern day religious war throughout the planet? is there really a solution? we take a spaceship and go live with the people on the planet marglar and forget all this crap? I think humanity is doomed to eternal stupidity and simplicity in thought.

Anyone killing other people or participating in hate crimes in the name of god has a whole different thing coming to them when they die. Can you imagine thinking that when you die in the name of god, as is a suicide mission, or kill in the name of god (as in the damn war, and our CHRISTAIN leader) that you will be praised for it when you die. The middle easterns killing over their god actually believe that when they die they will be surrounded by women feeding them grapes by an oasis, for their good deeds. The problem is when children are brainwashed. Then you have the most dangerous weapon in the world. A fearless child who has been taught something like that.

Any group of people that cannot or will not co-exist peacefully is a false path.

All major religions have been hijacked at one time or another. Of course, the true Muslim religion is violent. They have been "convert or die" almost since the beginning. Remember we have never attacked them first. Also, I don't honestly remember the last time Isreal attacked anyone first either (might have to look back in biblical times and double check that).


Now I do think this is the next world war (I consider the cold war to be WW III). This one is freedom against tryanny. Remember we never attacked them.Remember our US history. We have never made a colony out of any country we have defeated in the field of battle. We have done a fair job of seperating the people from the leadership in enemy countries. We have always proceeded with a measure of grace and mercy after the war.

Yea, that's whatâ??s really freaking me out too. No where in the world will be safe, unless your twenty floors below sea level, in a bunker.

Well on a happier note, we won't have to depend on them for oil much longer. The rest of the worlds oil supply is going to start to run dry and our entire economy will collapse....so maybe nobody will have enough money to create anymore to launch them. Can't say much for the ones that already exist, don't know what will happen to them.

I don't think there is an oil shortage to the point where we or our children need to worry about it. However, I do think we need to look at this as a national security issue. Allow drilling and refining of our own oil to carry us a for a few years while developing practical clean alternatives.

Actually, I just heard that Canada's oilfields are second only to Saudi Arabia, so the current prices aren't at all justified. but hey, we need to stop using that crap regardless.
