Actually my dad is a smart guy, he works for a computer company. He drinks every once in a while ie holidays, and even then he will barely have a beer or 2. And he always shaved. But if I didnt know my dad, thatd prolly be the image I'd have of him too. He just doesn't want me to get in trouble with the police or anything and he also just doesn't know his facts.

I got into an argument with my dad a while back and I was telling him how alcohol kills over 100,000 people a year, other drugs kill more people, and marijuana kills 0. Then he started saying "well theyre just using data from people who got in accidents and stuff, because no ones ever died from alcohol poisoning" Now my dads usually a smart guy. So I cant just automatically say he's wrong when he says something. But You can actually die from drinking too much alcohol, right? Like your CNS Rating: 5

Tell him to watch the news for a few days/read the paper and see how many drunk driving deaths and alcohol related poisonings he sees. And assuming that probably twice (?) as many people drink than people who smoke have him double the amount of weed-related deaths he sees. Actually have him estimate that 1,000 times more people drink than smoke. Because you'll still be right. In a week, I can almost guarentee you no one will die of high driving or smoking too much and a few people will die of drunk driving.

First, yes you can die from an alcohol overdose very easily. I happens at almost every university and college in the country at least once a year. Chug a fifth of hard liquor, pass out, and either stop breathing or choke to death on your own vomit. On a lighter note, there have been some recent studies that suggest that marijuana does not cause cancer of any kind and can actually reduce the damage done by smoking cigarettes. And apparently, people who smoke both are less likely to get lung cancer than those who smoke only cigarettes.

and bonsaiguy, there is still a risk of getting cancer through smoking marijuana(just from the carcinogens in smoke), for example: the native alaskan populations stomach cancer rate increased dramatically after they were indroduced to smoking their food instead of drying it for preservation

but, with marijuana there is an extremely low risk of getting cancer
