It's true the "new toy" syndrome will be there at any age but the difference in maturity between 16 and 18 I think is enormous and when speaking statistically makes an enormous difference in the number of fatalities. Remember there are some states and countries where the driving age is 18 and when you compare the numbers it is no contest. The 16 and 17 yearolds kill themselves and other way more than the 18 and 19 yearolds do. Even when comparing the age groups of both brand new drivers.
i agree with you, but i just think driving experience has a huge part to do with it.
pabloescobar209 Reviewed by pabloescobar209 on . Do you support raising the minimum driving age? Do you support raising the minimum driving age in your state? A lot of states want to raise the minimum driving age from 16 to 18. Iā??m 34 and absolutely will vote for this. The number of accidents and fatalities caused by drivers of the ages 16 and 17 are just shocking. Sure I was allowed to drive when I was 16 and when I think back to all the dangerous, stupid things I did in my car at that age it just makes me agree with this more.
