Do you support raising the minimum driving age?
Being very truthful, there is no way I should have been behind the wheel at 16. I'm lucky I'm still alive. I agree with you that there are pros and cons.

A lot of states want to raise the minimum driving age from 16 to 18. Iā??m 34 and absolutely will vote for this. The number of accidents and fatalities caused by drivers of the ages 16 and 17 are just shocking. Sure I was allowed to drive when I was 16 and when I think back to all the dangerous, stupid things I did in my car at that age it just makes me agree with this more. Wow! i can hardly keep up.
Very True actually, Drving is a privelage, but adults die in automobile accidents as well, and i think, as most of you will agree, that high school students and college men and women, are always in such a rush; going to the store, going to school on time, showing up for their jobs on time, blah blah, that when they get on the freeway stuck behind an old granny; (No offence to Grannys, they are the safest drivers anywhere) they slam their foot down, and crash into a tree and die, but certainly this is their fault so yes, i can understand. But then again, adults can do dumb shit like that also. I was going somewhere just the other day, and looked to my left to see some idiot driving alongside me on the freeway reading a book, and not looking at the road for nearly a slow count of 11 seconds. i mean this guy must have been at least 40.

Yeah, some adults drive like idiots too. A couple of weeks ago we were behind this lady who was all over the place, on and off the brake while she was gazing at herself in the rearview putting on her face paint. She really pissed me off and we were in a no pass zone.

I will go even one further; it should be 16 and 17 yearold guys not allowed more than girls. Of course they would never do this but come on everyone knows itā??s the guys that are doing most of the really stupid shit. The insurance companies sure know this!
Like I said when I think back to some of the totally stupid shit I did in my car, full of friends, at 16... Damn!! Like a lot of people have already said, I'm lucky to be alive today! I used to burn down the hill in my neighborhood, itā??s a 25 mile an hour little residential street in a quiet little suburb. I would try to get to the highest speed possible and then slam on the breaks and come to a stop at the intersection. I think my record was like 77MPH and the locking the breaks up (this was before the days of ABS). And come screaming and sliding to a stop. Laughing my ass off all the way.
That shit was just totally insane!! I have no idea how I was able to do that so many times and not kill myself, someone else, or be arrested!

i think they should raise the minimum driving age from 16 to 18, 90% of 16 year olds are not mature at all, i dont think they should be able to drive, not a year goes by i dont see some stupid ass teenagers getting killed, not like they got anything important to do anyways

Nice thing about that is they are too young to vote.

you could also agrue though that you only did those things because you were an unexperienced driver, not just because you were 16... and the only way to become and experienced driver is to drive. i arue that kids would do the same things at the age of 18 as they will at 16 when presented with a new found toy... would you agree??
