its just weird to see this from a person that loves animals so much. most humans are pathetic to nature if you ask me.
sweetnhighz Reviewed by sweetnhighz on . ""Grizzly Man"" I just watched the documentary on Bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell, and I must say its inspirational and motivating. I have a ton of respect for the man, he was nature's perfect servant....I wish the best for his family. Just wanted some feedback from anyone thats watched the film??? (in case you havent figure it out, I have a deep respect and love for animals) Rating: 5

I tried to watch it last night on the discovery channel, but the amount of commercials was horrible. You just don't get the cinematic impact with commercials.

I'm also kind of mad that the film only had a fraction of his footage, it seemed like it focused on his death more than his life. Maybe I'll rent it at blockbuster to see it again...

he did this for 13 years and i believe he was an incredible person.
wow your really hard to impress if going and living with huge grizzlies for more then a decade doesnt signify that you have got "balls", i dont wanna know what a person would have to do to gain your respect.

When your pets die do you just buck the fuck up?, he knew these foxes for years and had a relationship with them and if seeing the limb of a helpless little bear cub on the ground doesnt make you feel atleast a little bit of emotion thats pretty bad. They were basically his family out there in the wilderness. This guy accomplished more in those 13 years then most people do in a lifetime, i have respect for this guy. Although as said in the movie, he shouldnt have treated these bears like retarded people in bear suits like he did.

he was a good person with a heart of gold and made a difference in the world and thats a hell of a lot more than most people can say

Ok...I watched the show and it was fascinating as all getout. The kind of wildlife footage that many biologists would like to get but it was clear to me that Tim was a rather emotionally disturbed man. Admittedly, I am no shrink however it seemed fairly obvious that he merely substituted one drug, adrenaline, for another, alcohol. I also agree that he did a disservice to those animals by creating the impression that human contact is a good thing for them. If anything, the local authorities did a disservice to both Tim and those animals by allowing him to continue his so called study for as long as they did. By all rights they should have removed him from that wilderness and had him admitted for a psyhiatric evaluation. They would (and often have) have done as much for a "deranged" homeless person wandering around at a football game or in the streets of downtown trying to make nice with all the people or preaching the end of time or the impending alien invasion force.

Actually no, he wasn't. The fact is the number one thing you can do to respect these animals is to do just that, respect their wildness and leave them be. Because of his "good work" 3 bears are now dead that were shot on the scene of the attack. What a moron.
