heres what you do. you need a decent ruler, and something that can be used as a fulcrom (round chapstick container works)
next, the hardest part. is finding something that weighs a gram. you want it to be small...not spread out like a buss pass. Put the folcrum at 6in (whatever hte exact center is, some rulers go past 12"...or may be metric) when using it to weigh something, make sure you note where on the ruler you place the weed/counterweight. you wana keep them at oposit marks. so if you put the nugget at 1" make sure you put the counter weight at 11". you have to test-ballance the ruler yoruself, but if it balances..you got it weighed out.

if anything, it'l get the job done until you can eye out a gram.

a string a pencil and 2 baggies... get stuff weighed at a supermarket or PO,,, tie the string in the center of the pencil balance it and put a dab of super glue to hold it there... poke holes in the baggies and hang them on the ends,make a mark the same distance in on both side and hang the baggies equal,remove the eraser and metal also...

i was wondering if there was an easy way to make a scale from house hold objects, like not a digital one but something like the one with two plates and a fulcrum in the middle... something like that, any way i could measure by grams. a paper clip is a gram right?

You could go to like a science store and by a mechanical balance. We use them in science class all the time to make sure our measurements are correct. Oh and they are in grams.

Go to Target and get a food scale there about 25-40 bucks they weigh in grams. To bad there kind of big.
