Yeah, I searched, and toxic levels of CO2 are 200,000 ppm. So please, Sativagrowing and everybody else can feel free to stick their heads inside their grow rooms when the CO2 is @ 1800ppm...

They have meters to test ppm. The paintball CO2 tank you saw is a CO2 tank just in a smaller size. Because of how small it is, I'd suggest you not getting one of those and instead getting a scuba sized tank. You can probably find places to fill your tanks around local stores. Paintball stores, usually a sporting goods store, and maybe a hydroponics store. Hell, even home depot or Lowes might fill them (haven't checked). Goodluck.

ummm... thats a joke right?? :rasta:

OSHA says you can work for 8 hours in some crap like 60,000 ppm... it wont kill you unless you suffocate yourself with it... ie - no more oxygen.

to my knowledge you cant buy bottled up deadly gas... or we'd have a bunch of mini-hitlers running around using them.

you CAN use sodium-free seltzer water as co2 - there is actually a lot of CO2 in 1 bottle... you want to mist the UNDERSIDE of all of the leaves... it actually helps - they recommend 3x a day if thats your method, but 1x a day, right at lights on works well IMO. it must be sodium free... it should just be carbonated water.

i know a lot of ppl use the cheap-o method of makin' co2 with the yeast and all - but IMO tanks are the only way to go... you get dependable co2 thats always working, and a GAUGE tells you when you need more.. you dont have to stick your head in a bucket and see how much you yack to tell if your co2 is workin.

    CO2 - how to?

I fill mine at a welding gas supply store. It costs me $15 to fill up a 20 pound tank. The tank usually lasts between 1 and 2 months.

Yeah dude, I searched... I stand corrected.

Still, you don't think it's the White Collar engineers that work @ 60,000ppm... ? do you?

Will it kill you? No. I was wrong.

    Will you enjoy it?

    He corrected himself.

Also, not everone has $140 to pay for a guage to connect to a tank (especially when you can get a propane CO2 generater for a little over twice the price). The method I posted is good for the people looking to experiment with CO2 addition to their gardens or to people with a low budget. Goodluck <3

    CO2 - how to?

tru man - i wasnt tryin' to sound like an ass... sorry if I did.

I'd like to see someone do the yeast method with a ppm meter... even though those cost more than the regulators

i dont even have co2 yet - but i've been looking at it... I have 2 problems with the generators... 1 - they make heat, which i'm actively trying to get rid of... and 2 - there is an open flame in my grow room - i would just be worried about comming home to firetrucks in my driveway.

I think the tanks would be the best (for me) because you can put them anywhere, and they'll last for a long time.. I dont have a lot of floor space, but I do have some ceiling space.. (i got my carbon filter on the ceiling already)

anyone know what the ppm of co2 is if you just chill in the room for a while? my grow room air circulates from my office - where i spend all day - so i think my plants get all my co2 imp: just dont know how much it is - cuz i havent invested in a ppm meter.

    CO2 - how to?

I use a CO2 canister from a paintball gun. I partially screw the canister onto the gun to allow CO2 to leak out for 10-15 seconds every 3 hours during the light cycle. It's obviously not a precise method, but its cheap and the plants sure love it

If you have a larger grow room (im in a closet), a larger canister would be more logical.
