Sexing Questions

I pretty well know how to sex mj plants from seed.

But, at what age or size should you start sexing your seedlings in the 12/12?

Can sexing them too early cause high rate of males or is this disposition already programmed in the genetics?

genetics sex is inbeaded in dna and rna although females plants still have dormant male traits within that take over if environmental stress occurs to an excess level and as far as when can u flower u can flower from day one but u wont yield anything usefull when u flower is dependant on how much growspace you have tomatoe plants tend to double-tripple size once flower is induced some even quadrupple(dependant on strain and growing technique) so say u have 6 feet of growing space from top to bottom i'd say flower at or around 2 feet tall growing techniques differ upon grow space hense LST grows SCROG grows SOG grows ect..ect.. hope this helps best of luck

NEVER sex until your ready to go all the way.. that ismy suggestion
Take clones..
then 12/12
and then throw out the clones that are from the male plants..
a bit more work... ahhaah
but who gives a LOVE
and it expidites results.. BUDS...

the best method imo is to veg the plant until it shows on it's own(preflowers). most plants show preflowers between weeks 4-6 anyway. growing mj is a hobby that takes patience.

I agree, patience is very much a virtue in the cultivation of cannabis field. The more patience you have the better things will usually come out to be. During the vegitation period, the plant basically multiplies its potential end yield over time.

This is interesting... my White Widow plants are going into their 120ish day, and they still have no pre-flowers. 18/6 light schedule. 4 plants. No pre-flowers.

Any ideas? That's why I'm cloning for sex... the freaking plants don't show me their sex!!! virgins...

Yeah never force a plant to sex. I read some where that forcing a plant to sex can cause self-pollination of some reason. I forgot how it went but I would totally wait until you really felt it was time for the plant to be flowered or what ever. Excuse me if I'm making no sence I'm fuckin stoned lol :stoned:.

Turtle I'm sure you're plants are fine. Justaseed probably just had a lot of runins with strains that did autoflower.

most all plants will show preflowers by the 6th week of veg especially if a 18/6 light cycle is used(some sativas could take a bit longer). the longest a plant has ever gone in my grows without showing preflowers was 7weeks and it was a bogglegum male. it is not just autoflower strains that show preflowers. i am very suprised that your ww's haven't showed at 120days. they must be monsters! the nodes are alternating, right? in my experience preflowers come before alternating nodes. post some close ups of the nodes if you can especially nodes on the main stem. i suspect that if you look hard you will find some. i just can't believe a plant would go 4 months without showing sex!
