    florescent tubes

Can I use any florescent tubes for veg a specific kind.

Also, is it possible to spot female with a florescent tubes under a 12/12 light cycle So I can clone the females ?

I dont feel like buying a 400 W for 3 weeks of usage only to spot female since I will get 3 1000W HPS for the flowering in 1 to 2 month.

    Thank

Sativagrowin, you just saved me alot of $. If you where here I'd kiss you:rasta:

Lots of people (even on this board) told me it could not be done (flowering under a regular fluorescent) so thanks you!

Another question: Does a fluorescent have an expiry date?

I already have enough fluorescent at home but I had them for 5 years now with little to no usage.

    Thanks

They will work fine, and I'm sure no one told you that you can't flower under a flourescent. They probably just said that you won't get a good yield under it. Goodluck buddy <3

I will use 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower.

Once the females are spoted, I will put them back under 24/24 for 3 weeks before cloning them.

Some people say it's not good to flower a plants and put it back under veg after for clones but I dont see why it would afect the plant at all. The marjuana video I bought says it's OK so I'm going for that.

I dont want to waste my time with cloning to find out sex!

    Any advice ?

Flowering then switching back to veg IS fine it just stunts the growth for a little while. MeanGreenEye420: Once you put your plants on 12/12 they will begin to flower so you can't really use it on "veg". Just my 2 pesos.

i believe the reason for not switching back and forth from veg to flower is because it somehow deteriorates the genetics over time. so if you only do it 1 time it shouldn't be a problem. definetely do some research on this if your interested because i don't remember where i read/heard it.

Thanks guys, it seems like everyone have their opinion on this but like you said justaseed I dont think doing it one time could possibly afect the plant.

They are going to be in 12/12 for3 weeks at the most !

Any advice are more than welcome.

    Thanks
