I hadn't heard about that Rob.
To be honest I think it's BS.. what about responsible adults saying something like "Did you hear about the bombs in some arab country? Bush ought to send some relief over that way." *sirens wailing* "Oh, I'm fucked now"
I don't believe that a machine is listening to every single call and then starting to record when it hears those few key words... ridiculous!

Since the 1970's, Intelligence is able to record/hear every word uttered within 10 metres of a working telephone.
Now, they can even tune in to cellphones that are switched off. (For all you negative nancy's, this is true
, evidence of a switched-off recording has already been used)
Yeah they probably do notice the uttering of words like that, but they couldn't care less about some useless stoner babbling on about a terrorist attack they are planning.
Also, I don't think many terrorists talk like that;
"Ee Ibrahim?"
"Dirka dirka muhammad jihad?"
"We iz goingk to blow up the president withz a bomb"
That would be stupid.

they don't see calls as being "seperate"

using a telephone is pretty pre-historic already. Even I know how to build a police scanner.

You're silly if u think ur SMS Texts dont get searched. A sms dont go from phone to phone it goes to a computer then to the phone, thats how they can trace texts in crimes. I had a mate who had a friends name as a racist word on his cellphone, he got a message from his network provider about it...
I think the same is done with telephones. I aint being paranoid because i beleive they only listen out for the big big things.
That guy who was shot in the subway in london by mistake this year, the cops claimed they had succesfully bugged him.
V.succesful.

jep the net still allows us to remain somewhat faceless. I try to protect my pc like crazy, but i still know my msn is ditching little tidbits on some protected server.

Robert42, u're right about the sms thing. Recently there was a test in Belgium where they followed an sms message around the broadcasting media. It passed 3 (!) phone centers, 25 local redirections and three satellites.
And they were texting from Brussels to Paris. Which aren't very far apart.
So :upsidedow you might call me paranoid, but facts don't cease to exist because they are ignored

Yeah I recently thought screw it, I'm allowed to be a free person with the right to express himself in any way. Apart from purchasing/consuming cannabis, I do not commit other intentional crimes, and even this is commonly accepted and the arguments for legalisation are very convincing, the last taboo needs to be breached.
Don't you guys sometimes feel that way? Like, "Put me on the stand here and now, prove me wrong in what i do".
Sad it's nothing but a utopian thought... People are ruled by an invisible ruthless bureaucratic system. Face-to-face social democracy and individual investigation isn't possible anymore.
People get sent off to the big house by documents.
