What's a good flow rate (gph) for drippers?

I'm building a drip system with 5" netpots. Was gonna go bigger (use 2 gallon pots) but didn't due to increased cost of whole system -- the 2 gallon pots, 8 times the amount of Hydroton, more drippers, bigger pump to run all those drippers...........
Anyway, does anyone know how many drip emitters I'd need to go on each 5" netpot, and what a good flow rate is for a drip emitter? Like that won't clog often. I'm looking for the smallest flow rate that won't clog often and will keep 'em wet (because those gallons-per-hour add up fast, makes a huge difference in how big a pump you have to buy to run all of them).
I saw some drip emitters online that are 2 and 4gph, was thinking maybe the 2gph............

What's a good flow rate (gph) for drippers?

I run 110gph for 4 plants under drip. I follow Zandor's method of lights on-flow on full (a stream) light's off 15m's on 30m's off...Thisn is what I got from Z awhile back...I think I saw where he mentioned 15 on 60 off...perhaps he has changed due to his newer system...later.peace.lw

I don't know if 2-4gph would cut it/last very long...perhaps someone else has an idea

I run a 20 plant dripper system, With rockwool 3" cubes in clay balls, i leave the dripper running 24hrs and the plants thrive, to be honest the tank below the pots is full of roots, so it don't make much difference if the pump is on or off! but with it running it keeps the nutes circulating and gets some air into it

yeah, you should run it 24/7...also, 125 would be plenty for as many as 12 3 gal buckets....anything over that get a 250gph...they are cheap...like 29.99 or less at petsmart or petsmart.com ...plus you can get 0-10gph drippers (from Lowes/HomeDepot) and set it how you like....

What's a good flow rate (gph) for drippers?

Hi, I too run rockwool in 6-6" square pots. Am running a 110gph pump. I started of with 1hr. on 2hrs off. started experimenting around and I don't hardly feed at all when lights are out. During the time lights are on I run a little different. Half hour on then 1 and half hour off then 1 hour on 2 hours off then 1 hour on to 2 hours off till lights out and ten 2 half hour feeding with a couple hours off. I could never run full time, my girls just can't tolerate it and seems to stress them to much. I have more than a drip though. There is where the differences lie. Mine have a shallow stream and it is too much all the time.

What's a good flow rate (gph) for drippers?

On one of the video's I saw on growing. It said use 1" hose that the 1/8" feeds from. This will help prevent clogs. I think they said you won't have anymore clogs. Another thread I read said he used toothpicks to regulate the flow from the 1/8" hose. Very clever.

I run my drippers 24/7 cause it's a recirc dwc setup and the stream never hits the medium....the 1/4inch lines go in under the lids of the 5gal buckets...check my thread for advice and ideas!
