This a scary yet interesting subject. Imagine that you could be issued a card that contained all your personal info including medical and financial records, voter registration specs, and any number of things that pertain to you. Also using the card you could have access to all you financial accounts (like a super debit card) you would only need this one card for every function of everyday life. Job interviews, buying plane tickets, applying for loans or to rent an apartment, etc. you could handle you every purchase or payment with this one card, and since it registars every use, it could be easily tracked if stolen.
Now imagine that instead of a card it was a chip implanted in your hand when you were born with the capability of transferring information wirelessly. Wouldn't that be convinient? Wouldn't you feel safer knowing that no one can stel you identity or you money?
The answer for most god-fearing, tax-paying, regular type folks(eg420ne calls them sheeple) is yes. And the answer would be yes if those in charge of the system could be trusted but they can't and they've proven it time and again.
Anyone who thinks this system would be a blessing need to really look at the idea of "tagging" our populace. Do you really want the powers that be to know your every expenditure, where and when you bought something? Doy you want them to know ecxactly where you are at any given moment?
It's too bad that we can't trust our own governments. I heard a nice quote somewhere
"People should not fear their government. The government should fear it's people."
Sorry for the rant, I just think it's all a bit of a shame.
