Homemade CO2 production
I know the importance of CO2 in the grow room and I knew having extra would be a good idea but I never wanted to spend the money to get a system to make extra CO2, but today I read a cheap and easy homemade way to get extra CO2.
All you do is take a gallon jug like say a milk carton and fill with a pound of sugar and mix enough water in to dissolve all the sugar. Then put yeast in there and cap it off. Lead a tube from the cap of the container to your plant area and you have your own homemade CO2 production for nearly nothing spent at all.rnf232s Reviewed by rnf232s on . Oh shit, my bad. Well sawleaf, I guess we might read the same books then. Has anybody ever tried this method with success?

Homemade CO2 production
This thread is kinda old now, but I got a couple questions. What do you mean by cap it off and put a tube going from the cap. you mean take the cap off and put a tube on it, whats the tube for? And do we even know if this works?
I was thinking of doing this, and just letting the container sit in the room (my closet)

From what I gathered is it meant like put the milk lid back on a make a small hole in the lid. Then have like a plastic tube lead it to where you want it to be. I am sure it wont matter if you put in the middle of the plants though. I dont know for sure if works, but want to try it. I read it out of a hydroponics growing book from the library, so who knows.

Im sure it probably works if you read it out of a published book.

Actually I forgot where I read it, but it was on some website. I picked up one of those humidity bubblers from a petstore and it was perfect. Container sealed up nicely, had a large opening, and the cap had two nipples for multiple hoses. I think it was only like a few bucks. But a gallon milk container is cheaper still.
