    males useable?

    Ok, this is a real newb question, but if you're growing only one plant and you end up getting a male, are the buds useable? Or should a person just kill it and try again for a female? Also, if a female is cloned, will another female be grown?

    Males don't have "buds". They have flowers. The only use for a male is the pollen it holds. And the only use for the pollen is to cross breed that male with another female to get seeds and possibly a new strain. And yes the purpose of a clone is to get a copy of a plant knowing before hand what the sex will be. Welcome to the forums but try reading a little more. We have a really nice search option and there are many guides all over the internet. <3

    theres still thc in the males, but not as much. you have to smoke a lot more to get the same high as a female. i usually just make hash with it. even though i dont get alot, its better than wasting the plant that i risked my ass growing...:rasta:

    I beg to differ, I read some where that there was.

    ...Both male and female plants contain THC. In fact, some research has shown
    that in the early stages of growth the males actual ly contain more THC
    than the females...
    I got the info from here.

    If it is not great genetics...then it isn't worth the powder to blow it to Hell...
    Kill it and start over...If it is killer genetics then strip all stems but one, after you have wrapped a plastic bag and tied it around the limb you want to collect pollen from. also, remember that if you keep it, and it matures, releases pollen and dies...then your entire grow area is contaminated. goodluck

    ps...If you have a pollenlaiden male and want to move it or stifle the pollen;
    Spray it down with water:thumbsup:

    So would it be worth while for me to make some butter or something of the sort with any males? Should I use the flowers, or the leaves and all?

    Males DO produce TCH. They just don't produce as much as the more desirable females. IMO growing a male for anything other then breeding is a complete waste. Yes you can make hash out of some good males but I would ask why someone would waste the space and electricity to grow it when they could chop it and start over and hope for a female. Not to mention the risk. (the law doesn't make any distinction between the sexes). So I would say that if you're only growing one plant and want it for smoking then yes you should chop it down and start again.

    Yes a clone from a female will be female.

    Just eat the plant, whole and raw. Eat the evidence, and maybe it'll get you a little high.
