    I've found that following your body's sleep schedual, and getting outside are two very progressive ways to deal with depression. I enjoy smoking when I am outdoors and use it as a way to get out.

    Well, so far the best thing has really been just accepting that I am living this life, and trying to have an optomistic outlook on what goes on. Get control over your sorroundings, then relax and enjoy. That's how I feel. Might not get me too "far" in life, although, I think I'm pretty far out right now, :rasta:

    imp: I'M TAKING EFFEXOR FOR DEPRESSION. I FEEL ALOT BETTER... I'M NOT ANGRY OR SAD LIKE I USED TO BE AND I DON'T THINK ABOUT KILLING MYSELF ANYMORE EITHER...LOL. I SEE A SHRINK EVERYOTHER WEEK. HONESTLY I FELT LIKE AN IDIOT GOING TO HIM AT FIRST, BUT I CAN ONLY SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT NOW.:rasta:

    Not for nothing everyone. I smoke weed habitualy, just like many of you. I also suffer from depression and am on prescriptions for it. It helps. But I have been really thinking alot about the posibility that my depression in one way or another is linked to my addiction to marijuana. Is it at all possible that the depression felt in alot of us is directly related to the long term effects of smoking pot? Whether people admit it or not, there is a huge amount of anxiety and stress associated with pot smoking. I feel it every day. Im not trying to piss anyone off, believe me im trying to figure it all out too. Just the way i see it.

    keep yourself occupied. i.e. clean the house, go on walks/jogs, d oyour homework. worst thing for depression is sitting there thinking about things.

    I am bi-polar and suffer from both depression and anxiety. The #1 thing you can do to help yourself is to talk to someone about it. A doctor, or counciller, your parents perhaps. I use to see a doc. once a week and he would listen to everything I had to say. Negative and positive.

    Do things that you enjoy. The worst thing about depression is doing nothing. If you do that, your mind wanders and you start thinking bad thoughts. So do something that you enjoy.

    For me, I come on here and talk to people. Some people here are just hilarious and can bring any sad person up. I go bike riding, play video games, draw, read mags., watch movies, kickbox. Lots of stuff. You need to find a creative outlet. For some it may be skateboarding, or hanging out with friends.

    I use to take Effexor for my depression, but am now off of it for almost a year. I better myself as a person. I quit drinking and drugs, except cannabis, I have lost some weight and I feel much better about myself, mentally and phisically.

    I still take Zyprexa for my anxiety though, but I hope to come off that someday too.

    If depression is bothering your everyday life though, I really suggest a doctor. You may have a chemical imbalance and can only be treated with certain medication.
