Yes it's Ok to use just remember it is void of all trace elements that would normally be present in tap water. If you want / need them in there then you will need to readd them.

It's void of many minerals the plant needs. Good water is cheap and a known factor using that is not a good idea.
That's my 2ΒΆ for what's it's worth.

If you don't mind. Can you add back to it and what's the dif between that and distilled ? I'm in the southeast and my humidifier collects alot of water was wondering the same. PPM meter shows almost the same as distilled, very low. Just wandering. 70 to 80 % humidity most of the time, that's alot of water to throw out. maybe time to change to RO ?

Zandor is right that it is void of any minerals the plant could be using. You can buy something called CalMag plus which adds them back to the water.

There are quite a few trace elements which tap water provides. Dehumidier water is void of these elements. The "plus" in Cal / mag plus is most of these trace elements. The difference between distilled and dehumidified is that in a dehumidifier more trace elements are normally left behind by the precipetation process. Some of the water vapor collects and drips off of the coils and back into the tank. The process for distilling water is more efficent. Almost none of the minerals (trace elements) are left behind.
I understand what Zandor is saying I guess when I try to answer questions I don't really think about it from a practical stand point sometimes.
