    Paul McCartney Stops Smoking

Heather Mills Stopped Paul McCartney's Use of Marijuana

    UPI | January 23 2006

Heather Mills McCartney says she gave her rocker husband, Paul, a choice between marrying her and smoking marijuana.

The former Beatle was used to smoking pot like others drink tea, she said in an Observer magazine interview recapped Monday by the Daily Mirror.

"I would not get married to him if he was taking drugs," she said. "I hate it."

The couple has a 2-year-old daughter and the mom says she could not fathom her husband lecturing their child about the dangers of drugs "and then going out for a sneaky puff."

Heather McCartney, 37, said she has never experimented with drugs and only started sipping the occasional glass of wine after meeting her 63-year-old husband, whom she married in 2002.

"I was drunk (recently) on two glasses of wine at a Christmas party," she said. "I'm a very cheap date."

This particular article doesn't seem to elaborate on my favorite quote:

"I could not have him lying to our child about not taking drugs and then going off for a sneaky puff. Fifty percent of people can smoke joints their entire life and be fine. But the other 50 percent, if there's a history of depression in their family or in their genes, then they cannot smoke marijuana."

Is this woman a DOCTOR? I'm very confused. How can someone without even any first hand knowledge of something make absurd claims like this?

And Paul. Wow. For him to turn his back on something that has had such an overwhelming influence in his life is heresy.

    What a shame Mary Jane

If Paul McFartney wants to pussy-down and quit toking for her, then I'd be glad to take his stash off his hands, lol.

I can take it or leave it: wet or dry, I'm happy - but NO bitch is going to dictate to me what I can, or cannot, do regarding that.

Enh, that's a cop-out answer. I don't find ultimatums very "loving" anyway. They're probably kidding themselves. It's the rock stars fate.

It sounds more to me like she was jealous. If it were truly a joint-decision (oooh, sorry) then where is he in all this? I've read several versions of this story and not a quote from the man himself.

Can you read between the lines:
She told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Him and (his first wife) Linda smoked it every day for the whole of their lives together. But I would not get married to him if he was taking drugs. I hate it."

Wasn't the reason that the Beatles broke up due to the clash between Lennon and McCartney about Yoko Ono?

A dealer that I knew, in the early 70's, claimed that his friend was selling Colombian Gold weed to Lennon, who lived in the Dakota on Central Park West, for 100 bucks an ounce - which was almost twice the street price. Anyway, say what you will about Yoko, but she DID NOT stop John from smoking weed.

    Shame on YOU, Paul!

A leopard doesn't change its spots, and if it does, it isn't a leopard.

If Paul stops smoking pot, his creativity will go south, and he will become depressed.
The woman doesn't know what she is doing to the man!
Asking him to change...means she doesn't love what she has!
All Paul has to do is be honest with his children!
I mean he's has been knighted for God sakes!
Get them children involved with growing things in the garden, and educate them on how to use the weed responsibly and with respect.
That's the ticket to a healthy relationship!
Love what you have found completely!
Then you will be happy in life!

    Honesty is the best policy!
Paul knows that!...he sings it doesn't he?
and he should stand by his guns, and say to himself...if she doesn't love me for what I am, and do, then she doesn't love me at all!
She wants to change me to what she wants...and like I said before a leopard doesn't change into a mouse, or any other animal!
Could this lead to him being sly, a liar, and a sneek...yep!
Maybe Paul should cut down...but to quit for Love of a woman who wants change?, would be almost impossible to satisfy.
Marijuana, it completes the man that is Paul.
I think she should realize this truth and except him as he is!
He is being honest and up front with his life, and I think that is admirable, and deserves merit, which he has already achieved as a smoker, and with hard honest work as a original artist!
The attitute of the woman thinking it is bad, or wrong has to change!
Marijuana has no sin...only humans sin!..and Paul is a perfect human subject before the queen~why change?
But that's just me and my understanding of unions that work!
