    cfl question

It depends on the CFL's you get.

There are CFLs with more of the blue spectrum in them (5000K-6500K)
And there are CFL's with more of the red spectrum (2400K-????K)
Then there is the power of the CFL itself. Most every CFL says something about being like 13W but gives out 100W of light. Very untrue. The watts you measure by are the watts it actually uses. You probably won't be able to find a self balast CFL that has over 42W in stores but you might get lucky. My piece of advice is to either just save and get an HPS unit or buy a 65W 5000K-6500K CFL and 2 42W 2400K CFL's and run them all for the entirety of the grow. The 2 42watters you can probably find at home depot for $12-$14. I got my 6500K 65W bulb off the internet for like $40 shipped. Also get like $10 and get some superthrive off ebay. It WILL make a difference. Goodluck and welcome to the forums.
