What was Jordan's rookie scoring average?

and Kobes?? 34.2?? Hahahah. His weak ass had 7.6 while Jordan blew folks away with 27.8.

Pppl need to stop comparing Kobe with Jordan man.

If u like Kobe, it'z fine. U think Kobe is the best? Cool. Just don't compare them without recognizing numbers and realizing who's accomplished more in their career.
Jordan also played 3 years of college, while Kobe went directly from high school. Btw, Jordan averaged 28.2 his rookie season. Also the competition in the 80s was much weaker than it was today and were notrious for playing vitually no defense. After all Jordan's Bulls the 2nd season made the playoffs with only 36 wins. The competition today is much tougher, defense has become more sophisicated, and players are better conditioned.

I'm not saying Kobe is better, because he has a few more years to catch up to Jordan's level. What is similar they both have an uncanny will to win, and I wouldn't be surprised that Kobe will one day be a legend.

I'm not too big on the NBA, anymore, I just like SU Basketball. I used to like the Lakers when they had Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Michael Thompson, you know.

After his career, he'll be comparable to Jordan, I think. Especially, if he scores 100 points, one night.

I agree with you completely. The men in today's nba are in much better condition. We got some beasts playing out there. And Kobe and Jordan are VERY alike in the fact that they can perform on the highest stage under intense pressure.

One memory that I have of Kobe is the '01 Finals against the Pacers. Big boy shaq had fouled out in OT, so Kobe took over, scoring 10 unanswered points to win a tough road game. It was around that time that I knew he could easily excell w/o Shaq there. Sure Shaq is dominant as hell, but someone had to throw up those amazing alley-oops.

Looking at facts alone, kobe has more rings than jordan did in that age in his career, and kobe outscored jordan's measly 69 point effort last night. What else is there left to say? M-V-P and history.
kobe never even got to the playoffs without shaq and i dont think it will happen this year either. yea he had more rings but imagine if jordan had a "shaqlike" teammate with him during his early teens. they would have won multiple championships also.

scoring is overrated. yea 81 is impressive BUT there have been a lot of rule changes since jordan left, such as the hand check rule. jordan could score at will when he played but if the rule change was implemented in his time, it would have been game over, he WOULD AND COULD have scored as many as he wants but winning the game was more important to him.

And as far as scoring titles go, the dont mean shit compared to the rings. And Shaq is great, but not even close to be cosidered the best.. Can be lazy at times, and come on, coming into camp outta shape and flabby...some professional. All I'm saying is he's got at least another 3 titles in him, maybe more.
i never said he shouldnt be considered one of the best of all time because of his personal life. screw his personal life. hes still not going to be considered top 5 nba players of all time just because he hasnt proved anything yet besides that he can win with shaq. shaq might be lazy and flabby but hes still the dominant in todays game because most teams double and triple him as soon as he catches the ball. i guarantee that kobe bryant will not win another championship with him being the dominant player on his team or else i will NEVER smoke weed again. as talented as he is, im that confident he wont.

also, one big difference between them is that jordan's defense was a lot better than kobes. im not saying kobe isnt a good defender because he is one of the top 15 defenders in the league but jordan was that much better than everyone else in the league at his time at defense. yea, scottie might have guarded the opposing team's best scorer but michael could do it too. its just that it would be that much harder for him to focus on scoring if he did.

People fail to realize that Kobe got those 3 championships with the help of Shaq. Now, some people say that that fact doesn't really matter, but who was the MVP of EACH of those finals?
And more importantly, has/can/will Kobe do it without Shaq?
I think those rings and Shaq are overlooked tremendously. They seem to put Kobe as a fuckin god. Dont get me wrong, I blaze and watch Kobe juz like the rest of u muthafuckaz, but don't compare him to Jordan.

and don't mention him in the top 10 of all time, he's a fucking ballhog(sorry, it's true no matter what) and can't lead a team for shit. Those 3 championships were thanks to Shaq, plain and simple

now i have probably hated kobe more than anyone on the planet BUT shaq hasnt won a championship without kobe either. yes, shaq did most of the work BUT kobe did have some big games during those 3 championship year.

also, KOBE IS A BALLHOG but so were all the other great players in history. jordan, chamberlain, jabbar, they all demanded the ball because they knew they had a better chance of making a basket than their teammates. while it can be viewed as being a ballhog, some others view it as taking control of a game and showing leadership. im not saying kobe is good as the 3 players i just mentioned but he is the best player on the team and if i were the coach, i would rather have him take a lot of the shots, rather than have him defer to retards like chris mihm, brian cook, kwame brown or devean george.

Shaq didn't win a ring without Kobe either. Only went to the finals in 95 with Penny Hardaway as his sidekick. That argument is fundamentally flawed since Shaq didn't win a championship without him. There is no doubt in my mind who was the leader then, but one person can't win a championship alone, it takes chemistry of many players with a certain set of skills to build around a player of Shaq, Jordan, Magic etc. caliber.

It will take some time for them to rebuild a decent team around Kobe, but the rest of the Lakers starting 4 suck shit, Lamar is decent, but he does not fit in the triangle. Kwame fucking Brown for christ sakes. No team can win with him, if only Kobe could only kick his ass, and make him actually play hard, they actually might have a shot at the playoffs.

I know damn well one can't win a ring, therez a reason it'z a team sport. Same thing for Iverson, who in MY OPINION is the best player out there. For him to be 5'11 and take his team (horrible fuckin team) to the playoffs in 01 against the L.A and come that fuckin close....wow. I'ma go as far as to say he'z the best non-center nba player to step on the court after Jordan. But again, it'z juz an OPINION.
