Tranquilisers (I think they break them down into sedative and hypnotic, dont quote me on that). eg Xanax, valium, these are benzoswhat are benzodiazepines?

Proabably a relative of Valium which is also known as diazapam. If I'm not mistaken there is a version of the PDR (physicians desk reference) out on the web somewhere and if dad is a doc, he probably has one laying around somewhere.

yeah valiums are diazapam. the temaze is temazepam. and he takes both of these. im gettin abit worried

Don't stress, I know a few people who have sleeping disorders and need these sort of drugs (I havnt heard of temazepam but have done a few others and nothing to worry about imo)yeah valiums are diazapam. the temaze is temazepam. and he takes both of these. im gettin abit worried

fuck guys, ive just figured out all these family problems...but i dont know whether i should confront dad or tell mum, you guys would probably understand more if you knew the whole story, which im not going into btw

my dad doesnt have sleeping problems, he has other issues....and these drugs are no good for him (coming from the research ive just done)

On the contrary, I believe these are also members of the opiate family and are highly addictive. Valium was the " mothers little helper" mentioned in the Stones tune and was passed out like candy back in the 50's and 60's to stressed out housewives, most of whom ended up in some kind of rehab. Today, it's Prozac which is probably even worse. Doctors are some of the most common abusers of prescription drugs due to the amount of stress they are under with high patient volumes and easy access.
