Root Bound
Yea, rootbound is usually when you can lift the stem of the plant and get all the soil to come out in the shape that it's already in. Just plant that huge glob of dirt into a bigger pot and the roots will continue to grow. I think the only side effects of being rootbound is the plant being stunted in growth. Actually, I'm not even sure if it dies. It might just be there doing nothing. No idea.
