when i saw dave grisman, he stopped playing and chastized the mostly college age crowd for being too loud! MerleFest is held every year in Wilkesboro, NC to celebrate the too short life of Merle Watson. it is a "not to miss" event on my calendar. here in the capitol city of SC, we are also lucky to have Bill's music shop and pickin' parlor. i saw Dr. Ralph Stanley there along with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. oh, coincidentally, i used to play in a band named for the tv gameshow host from the muppets, Guy Smiley. loooong time ago!

I don't like the beer, but at least it is a place people have heard of because of the television ads. It really is a cool town. I hadn't smoked for 20 years, but decided to start again recently when I was up at the ski hill and caught a whiff of some kids off in the trees. Its hard to find when you've been out of it for a while! None of my friends smoke, so I had to look elsewhere. I tried all the "seedy" parts Rating: 5
