Hey Joker...
Get a tray or some resivoir that your pot can sit in and fill it with perlite or hydroton rocks... the roots will grow in this medium... and you wont have to worry to much about them drowing or drying... . .... you could even get a slab of rock wool and set your pot on that... the roots will dig right IN
sitting directly in STILL water is not good... dry is not good either... but if there is some water at the bottom.. let say 1 inch or 2 inches.. and you have perlite... the roots will be fine
: )Garden Knowm Reviewed by Garden Knowm on . root Q hi all, i had to repot the other week as the roots were out the bottom by 8 inches ,so i put them in higher pots an still the rooots are outta the bottom (only a bit for now ) , the thing is , i have the pots standing in a tray ,i keep this tray pretty dry , its just for run off water ..am i doing sumthin wrong , ? should i have the overflow tray always with water in >?
