Roots can not stand in water they drown from lack of oxygen. They will stay moist enough in the tray with the pot on top. Also not every inch of the root needs to stay wet. The portion which remains in the pot will stay wet enough to support the part that comes out of the pot if that makes sense.
HerbusHerbus Reviewed by Herbus on . root Q hi all, i had to repot the other week as the roots were out the bottom by 8 inches ,so i put them in higher pots an still the rooots are outta the bottom (only a bit for now ) , the thing is , i have the pots standing in a tray ,i keep this tray pretty dry , its just for run off water ..am i doing sumthin wrong , ? should i have the overflow tray always with water in >?
