    cannabis on workout forums

    i post on a bodybuilding forum also, and until today i had never seen a thread about marijuana and bodybuilding. i saw one today where someone was asking how MJ would affect his workout, and i expected everyone to immediately tell him to stop and that hes killing himself and other ignorant crap like that, but i was surprised that most of the bodybuilders said they smoke on a regular basis, and that there was nothing wrong with it. The moderator said that was the 5th post about MJ he had seen that day, and while i was leaving a very long and detailed response, the thread was deleted.

    its nice to see how mainstream bud has become, and its great that its accepted by tons of different groups, not just 'potheads'. especially great that tons of bodybuilders admit to using it, even though the general perception is that weed makes you amotivational and lazy.

    i lift and smoke but i can tell you the two of them dont go together you can work much harder when you dont smoke as smoking reduces oxygen in the blood

    I usually smoke before going to the gym and i workout 1.5/2 hrs per day, 4 days per week. The 3 days i am not in the gym i smoke and then go to one of the local wall climbing centers, or ride my bike or run. I am almost 50. I also go rock climbing and kayaking, both rivers and ocean.
    Should i be worried?

    I workout alot and toke alot, most likely less O2 in the bloodstream will effect you heal time but I really could care less and gain enough anyway. Nothing like planting your wrecked body on to the sofa and sparking up, the physical high is fantastic.

    I've smoked down and then gone and lifted, and yeah, it wasn't too bad for the most part. But I generally felt either too tired to want to continue lifting or just too odd to continue lifting. I usually lift or have a good training session kickin a ball around or whatever, then smoke.

    I wouldn't recommend lifting while on marijuana for safety reasons (worse tracking & Coordination + heavy weights = pain waiting to happen). I lift and smoke though, and I've seen no noticeable problems

    I love lifting, but I agree with fractur, I can't workout while stoned. I only could do a 1/2 an hour stoned, while I could go 1+ hours sober.

    That's funny, Tmar, there was a story done on legalizing marijuana by my local news, and when I try to view the story, and video, the only thing that comes up is the beginning to a Triple Doppler Forecast.

    My Sister loves working out while high, but she doesn't hit the weights. My friend does and has been working out high since High School. I'm always high, but I'd rather smoke a bowl just before I start any exercise, I mostly do Pilates (but, it's been a while).

    Uff... when I went to the gym, I was stoned over 90% of all the times.

    Those where 2 hour work outs. Lifting weights. Not cardiovascular. In fact, my buddy and me would smoke before getting out of the car @ the gym, then, sometimes, 1 hours into the session, we'd go down into the car, and smoke as much as we could for 5 or 6 minutes... than, back to the weights.

    Did we loose our time? No.
    Did we do our daily goals? Yes, and then some.
    Where we stoned? Fuck yeah.
