Cutting a hole in glass

I recently purchased a beautiful green glass bottle type of thing. Its about 4 feet tall, has a very long slender neck (about 1.5 inches wide) that takes up most of the length, then at the last 8 inches it opens up into a perfectly round base about 8 inches in diameter.. Its smooth thick jungle green glass and heres the best part: i got it for $2 at a garage sale...

I want to turn it into a bong

Since it was not made for that purpose, it only has one hole, and thats the opening at the top... I need to make 2 more, nice, clean, smooth holes in it at the base for a bowl and a carb.

So heres my question: How can i do this? Ive been told to use a high speed drill with a special glass bit, but i dont have either of those... Is there another way? i want it to be fool proof because i will go on a phychotic killing spree if it breaks; its such an amazing find.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated..

You need a special drill bit. I've tried other ways, they don't work.

Yes, you need the bit, or you may risk cracking it or breaking it. I've tried as well, doesn't work no matter what you do. The glass just gets all chipped up when you don't use the right bit, a jagged, uneven hole, that's when it works. When it doesn't, it breaks.

Im willing to put some money into this... is there a professional service i can utilize? (assuming they dont realize my intentions)

just by the special bit, and drill, and make urs and then keep making finds and selling them off or trading them for more bud

yeah i used a drill and glass bit... its the ONLY way.

ur all just impatient ive made 100s of glass bongs with nothing more than a screw driver and some electrical tape.... but yeah dont go on a killing spree cause you smashed 2 dollars worth of replaceable glass, just by a drill bit and get use to a drill press its the best way, i made my trophy bong that way

you can use a torch, you better have experience though

best way is with a dremel and a diamond bit that will work the best cuz it has 2200rpm and it really doesnt drill through the glass but moreso melts through the glasss
