can coughing be harmfull?!?

i havent smoked for 2 weeks and i want to get really blazed. my best highs are the ones where i spend 10 min on the gorund coughing to open my eyes to a glossy, vibrant world. i was wondering if i take a huge bong rip, cough for ten min, then as soon as i can stand up i have another huge ripp and go down again. can i cough so much that i damage something? or choke or pass out or anythin?

no i really dont' think so. you can however get a very sore throat, which under poor hygine standards (nothing anyone of us could even come close to, it would have to be down right out never doing anything "clean") could get infected... but i've done quite a bit of coughing (way i see it, if you aren't coughing your ass off, you didn't take a big enough of a hit) and i'm fine...

now this is somethign you ahve to watch out for and it's never pleasent for those with faint stomachs i'd suggest not reading...

one time i smoked my first blunt ina black n' mild (had smoked plenty of blunts before hand, just my first one rolled in a black n mild) i found out that i had some type of "allergic reaction" (i put it in quotations cuz i don't think there is actually something to be allergic to that's in black n milds that isn't in alot of other cigars if not all) ... i took one or two hits and got severely sick at my stomach and started fuckin puking like crazy, when i was in the bathroom atleast.. i was down on my knees puking (of course as weed usualy does to me my sinuses were clogged up at the time) and i kept fuckin puking and puking.. i couldn't stop it, and it never paused in between hurls enough for me to breathe.. i spent about a minute puking into the toilet, the whole time never being able to take even a short breath.. i think i came really close to passing out before it stopped, dunno how this is really relevant, just thought i'd share... it's fun to gross ppl out sometimes.

my freinds said he whitnessed a guy cough his lung out, "hes caughing and all i see is this bloody sac come up". this however is complete BS, i asked my bio teacher. its really impossible..

even if your friend was just over exagerating and it was just blood he was coughing up, that wouldn't of been from coughing too hard.. that would of been from some underlying problem...

Yah I def. have a good case of a smoker's cough going on. Sometimes it's a pain because I'll just start coughing and not be able to immiediatly stop, like in class or something. My throat does get sore from time to time, but hey, suck it UPPP and smokeee.

chronic coughing(no pun intended)can lead to a rupture in the veins running through the brain. This isnt a common thing, but it does happen.
One story comes of of Holland where a man was smoking some hash and coughed so hard that he ruptured/hemorage a vein causing death. Any further information you need may be accessed via google.
I would do smaller hits if i had the cough episodes that you speak of having.

Lately I can't even get a good hit in before I start coughing, and it's driving me nuts! I hate sounding like a newbie!
And yet, I don't want to give it up.

well sofkuri if i were you i would either get a bong with crused ice water in it or take a week break and have throat losanges that whole week....or try something minty or pepperminty in your mouth before you start smoking..i find it helps soothe alittle
