Question for HARDDON or anyone that knows.

Is using a soda pop to be a substitute for pH Down harmful for the plants? I seen the carbonated water on the label and figure that plants like carbon...I think. Basically I'm asking if I should use lemons or soda to lower the pH of my water. Also I'd like to know if a squeezed lemon should be used or the lemon juice in a bottle. Thanks in advance.

I ended up using pure orange juice with filtered water and concentrate. I mixed it with water from my fridge which is supposed to have a really good filtering system. I got all the water in the gallon jug to be exactly 6.8pH and I'm growing in soil so I'm hoping for the best.

carbonic acid[ in fizzy drinks]....will only exist in a solution under pressure....once there is no pressure...the acid[H2CO2] breaks up into CO2 and water!! because it breaks up into co2...it canbe applied to plant leaves as a source of co2!!

However it is not siutable for use as a ph down because the acidity will only last a few hours [ or as long as it takes for a glass of coke to loose it's fizz]

stick to lemon jiuce or vinegar...or just use a ph down
