What's the difference between a drug screen and a drug test?

However I believe that you are referring to Screening Only vs a Screening coupled with a Confirmation Test. It is true that if only a Screening test is performed, then the possibilty of false postive results is always a factor due the nature of the test. We perform an Initial Screening Test at which point all "NEGATIVE" specimens are reported. If a specimen is "POSITIVE" for the Initial Screening Test, then a second, more specific, Confirmation Test is performed. This second test will rule out any potential false positive results from the Screening Test. You want to make sure that whoever is doing the testing for your employees performs a screening test followed by a second confirmation test for any "screening positive " results. I hope this answers your question. If you need more clarification, please feel free to cantact me at the lab.
